A Thrilling 25 Years

13th February 2009

Clifton-based JBP, the South West’s largest independent PR consultancy, has celebrated 25 years of business in the city.

The company, founded by Managing Director Jennifer Bryant Pearson, marked its silver jubilee year by hosting a special event with long standing client Bristol-based accountancy, business advisory and investment management firm Smith & Williamson at the Royal West of England Academy. More than 100 guests attended the function.

And the event had a ‘twist’ to it, with national journalist and author Martin Baker being interviewed about his new book, Meltdown, by his wife, Nicola Horlick, Chief Executive Officer of Bramdean Asset Management, the company she founded in 2005 after more than 20 years in the fund management industry. The book is the first of a trilogy of novels set against the backdrop of crisis in the world financial system. Baker has also been commissioned by a major Hollywood producer to develop the screenplay of Meltdown.

Said John Cullum, Chairman of JBP: “We were delighted to celebrate our first 25 years with our clients and contacts in the city and we now look forward to providing strategic communications services for another quarter of a century.”

Mike Lea, Managing Partner at Smith & Williamson, added: “As a company operating in the investment sector, it was particularly interesting to hear Martin and Nicola give their perspectives on the parallels that can be drawn between the fictional events in Meltdown and the challenges currently being faced in the world of business and finance.”

In addition to Smith & Williamson, JBP’s clients include easyGroup, Elizabeth Shaw, Learning Skills Council, National Grid and Sainsbury’s.
