Bristol-based JBP, one of the UK's leading strategic communications consultancies, went one better than the England Rugby Union team by retaining a top prize.
JBP was crowned the South West PR Consultancy of the Year for a second year in a row at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations PRide Awards 2007 ceremony. JBP also secured two other top awards, including Gold for a not-for-profit PR campaign, Babe's Big Push, for Children's Hospice South West; and a business and trade media relations programme for Taylor, the UK's market leader in recycling and waste containment solutions. JBP also received a Silver Award for a PR campaign to raise awareness of the annual outdoor classical music concert, Prom on The Close, hosted by Clifton College, which this year was headlined by Russell Watson and all-girl classical group All Angels.
The judging panel paid tribute to JBP's energetic and creative approach as well as its strong business management skills and appreciation of the future challenges in communications. They highlighted the company's innovation in campaigns and authority of voice, stating that it was on par with the best in the country.
The CIPR PRide Awards have grown in strength and stature, recognising public relations success and achievement in regions outside London. There were 1,456 entries UK-wide this year.
Said Chris Lawrance, Director at JBP: "This was a great night for the company and to win so many awards is testament to the strength we have across the consultancy. In particular, it was a fantastic achievement to retain the coveted South West PR Consultancy of the Year Award against such fierce competition."
Liz Anderson, Chair of CIPR West of England, said: "The PRide Awards allow us to showcase the good PR work being done in the West of England, and the contribution this makes to business and society. The standard of this year's winners certainly doesn't disappoint. Having faced a rigorous judging process to come out on top is a tremendous achievement and all winners are to be congratulated."
