JBP Associate Director, James Harris, has been elected Chair of the Marketing Committee for the Bristol Junior Chamber (BJC) during the year 2009-10.
James was elected to the post, which forms part of the Chamber’s Council of Management, at the BJC Annual General Meeting, which was held at Merchant’s Hall on April 7th in the presence of the Rt Hon the Lord Mayor of Bristol, Cllr Christopher Davies and other distinguished guests and young business leaders.
James commented:
“Having grown up and developed my career in Bristol, it’s great to join an organisation such as the Junior Chamber which allows you to give something back to the city whilst also developing your own professional skills amongst like-minded individuals from organisations of all types.
“In the coming year, I look forward to helping develop a stronger voice for BJC on issues affecting the city’s businesses and young leaders.”
The BJC is a membership-based business organisation open to those under the age of 40 who have achieved professional or managerial status within their organisation.
It is affiliated to the city’s senior chamber, GWE Business West and has a long history of involvement in high profile events in the city, including the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta, which it conceived and launched in 1978, and the ‘Brunel 200’ Banquet, which it organised in 2006.
