The Royal West of England Academy has this month launched its Gallery Club scheme - a corporate friends initiative designed to offer business organisations in the city a chance to engage more proactively with the Academy with a package of tailored benefits.

The scheme is one of a number of projects conceived and developed by the Business and Art Initiative which was founded earlier this year and is chaired by JBP director Karen White. Founder members of the Gallery Club include Allied Irish Bank, Smith and Williamson and commercial property consultants Burston Cook

Earlier this year the group launched Art in Your Workplace, which enables business organisations to borrow art from the Academy's archive and display it in their places of work.

Said Karen White: " JBP has a long pro bono relationship with the Academy and I am privileged to be chairing the Business and Art Initiative,as I strongly believe that there are many benefits to be gained from involving arts and culture in our everyday business activities."
