JBP worked closely with the Appeals Director to devise and implement a marketing communications programme to raise £20m to build a new hospital. We brokered the relationship between Aardman Animations and the Hospital, which culminated in the close association with the internationally recognised characters Wallace and Gromit. A media, direct mail and events campaign brought together all sectors of the southwest media and generated extensive national coverage. Most notable was the creation of Wrong Trousers Day to raise funds, which is still held every year to generate funds for hospitals around the country. Our work was rewarded with the Public Relations Consultants Association Gold Award for best charity/not for profit campaign.
