What opportunities does the Strategic Defence and Security Review provide South West businesses?

Date: 1 February 2016, 8:45 am
Venue: Aztec West, Almondsbury, BS32 4TS

We’re pleased to be hosting an exclusive defence event with the West of England Aerospace Forum in Bristol which will look at the opportunities presented by the National Security Strategy and Strategic Defence and Security Review 2015. The event in February 2016 will bring together Defence Primes and businesses alongside key UK defence procurement stakeholders, to discuss how the review opens new opportunities for organisations in the South West.

Philip Dunne MP, Minister of State for Defence Procurement, is a keynote speaker. His invaluable insight into the MoD’s policy agenda and thoughts on where opportunities lie for SMEs in the South West will help to make this an excellent opportunity for attendees.

The South West excels in the aerospace and defence sectors. They are responsible for 60,000 jobs in the area and this is expected to grow significantly over the coming years. The MoD is keen to recognise and support innovation, and through the review the Government wants to make it easier for SMEs to bid for defence contracts. This is a good time for SMEs to take advantage of new opportunities and the strong growth forecast for the region. Our event will include a series of talks and a networking lunch and will give SMEs all the tools they need to do so.

The event takes place on Monday, 1 February 2016, from 8.45am to 2pm.
