JBP PR secured famous faces as well as leading broadcast attention, for the official launch of its client’s museum opening in Bath.
No.1 Royal Crescent, Bath, one of the UK’s finest examples of Georgian living re-opened recently following an extensive, six month renovation period to reunite No.1 Royal Crescent with its original servant’s quarter, No.1a.
Following tweets to Rory Bremner, one of the UK’s leading impressionists, the comedian agreed to attend the high profile ceremony, along with popular TV stars Mary Berry and Ab Fab’s Julia Swahala.
The star studded event and interview opportunities with the likes of Rory Bremner and Mary Berry attracted the interest of broadcasters including BBC Points West, ITV West, BBC Radio Bristol and Breeze FM.
Other leading titles to cover the opening of the renovated museum included The Telegraph and The Evening Standard, with further coverage to appear in titles including The Guardian, Homes & Antiques magazine, First Great Western’s on-bard magazine, Escape and international title Discover Britain.
Lisa Hale, senior account manager at JBP PR, said: “We identified Rory Bremner as a key celebrity to attend the opening event due to his connections with ITV Britain’s Favourite Views in which he named The Royal Crescent as one of his personal favourite views. We initially went via one of his agents, but with no budget, this proved fruitless. Failing that, I decided to contact him directly via Twitter, which eventually led to him attending the event and doing an excellent piece to camera for both ITV and the BBC. Persistence paid off on this occasion!”
No.1 Royal Crescent is now open to the public, seven days a week. For more information on the re-opening of No.1, which is known as The Whole Story Project, visit www.no1royalcrescent.org.uk
