JBP wins PR contract with leading electronic cigarette brand

JBP PR & Parliamentary Affairs has secured the PR contract for Gamucci electronic cigarettes in a three way pitch.
JBP will be responsible for raising the profile of the leading brand with potential investors, adult consumers and retailers in order to support the continued fast growth of the company.
Gamucci was established in 2007 by brothers Taz and Umer Sheikh and was the first electronic cigarette brand to enter the European market. The entrepreneurs identified a gap in the market for high quality electronic cigarettes in advance of the smoking ban being announced in the UK.
In 2008 Gamucci pioneered the world’s first disposable and integrated electronic cigarette technology for which it has recently been granted a patent. Today, Gamucci’s annual turnover exceeds £5m and is set to more than treble in 2013.
Says Chris Lawrance, a managing director at JBP: “We are delighted to be bringing our communications expertise to this fast emerging consumer products’ sector. According to Euromonitor International, the electronic cigarette market is already worth £1.3bn globally, with the US and the UK being two of the fastest growing markets. With only one per cent share of the traditional tobacco market in the UK, electronic cigarettes have significant growth potential and Gamucci is well positioned as one of the longest-established and most exciting companies in the sector.”
From humble beginnings in Soho in 2007, Gamucci quickly expanded its operations and established a presence in India in 2008, in China in 2010 and in the USA in 2011. Today, Gamucci operates in over 20 countries worldwide.
Gamucci is also advised by Jacqueline Burrows of Lansdown Public Affairs, a specialist public affairs consultancy. Jacqueline was formerly Head of Public & Political Affairs for Imperial Tobacco and global Director of Public Affairs for Rothmans International.
