We back calls for 50,000 homes a year in London

13 October 2015, News

Colleagues at JBP have thrown their weight behind a campaign that’s calling for a dramatic increase in housebuilding in London to tackle the city’s housing crisis.

We were represented alongside leading businesses, political leaders and media at the launch of the Fifty Thousand Homes campaign, which wants building rates in the capital to be more than doubled to 50,000 homes every year.

Our chief executive Jennifer Bryant Pearson is one of the signatories on the campaign statement, which includes Shelter, the CBI and Federation of Small Business amongst its backers.

London’s housing crisis is well documented, and felt by almost everyone who lives or works in the city. We recently produced a briefing note on the issue following a round table event with sector leaders who are working to address the issue in the city.

Here’s an infographic which sets out what the issue means for businesses in London.
